In front of the eyes and ears of a prominent jury, ten choirs each competed in two preliminary rounds in November in the "Grand Hall Zollverein" on the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Essen. The episodes were shown on WDR television on 22 and 29 November at 8.15 p.m. Those who missed it can watch the episodes in the WDR Mediathek at: https://www1.wdr.de/unterhaltung/unterhaltung-im-westen/chorwettbewerb/index.html.

The grand finale is coming up on 13 December at 8.15 pm live on WDR television. The "Best Choir in the West" can look forward to prize money of 10,000 euros and a performance with the WDR Rundfunkchor in its home town.
